DIY Jewelry Cleaner

After searching for the perfect Baptism gift we found it!  It's a vintage pendent, perfect for a little girl.  Although we love the vintage look, we wanted to give the piece a face lift.  We found this amazing DIY jewelry cleaner on Passion For Savings website.

Cutting Glass

We just started experimenting with cutting glass.  It isn't as easy as you think, it definitely takes practice. Save your nice bottles till you have mastered the procedure. We bought our glass cutter on Amazon.  Let us know how yours turned out.

Father's Day Craft, Gift and Party Idea's

There are so many events going on in the year and sometimes you want to look like you put a lot of effort into them.  Here are a few craft, decoration and gift idea's for Father's Day that are simple, fast and cute.

  1. The Father's Day Tie - All you need is an ugly tie, a hand, a foot and some paint. Now ugly is priceless.
  2. Dress for Dinner Napkins - For the dad with a sense of humor.
  3. Grid It - Got this for my husband and now he can't travel without it.  It's also great for organizing toiletries.
  4. Watch and Eye Dock $42 of hipster chic.
  5. Tie Garland - Turn paper ties into garlands and goodie bags.
  6. Handprint Pirate Card - For a fun and funny card to go with your awesome presents!

Fun Friday Faves

We thought it would be a great idea to feature some or our favorite finds every Friday.  I must write a disclaimer that even though the pictures are BEAUTIFUL, the projects don't always turn out.  At our studio we have run into our fair share of DIY fails.  Those pictures will be saved for another blog post. =)

Happy Friday and enjoy!

1. OKER blog  - Simple dot tags, turn garland! Great idea for parties!

2.  Project Nursery - We love Pantone drawers.  If you ever visit our studio try and find our Pantone drawers. Hint (you have to look up).

3.  Brit + Co. - We love making our own cell phone cases too!  We've done this at our studio and it is so fun and you can't stop at making just one!

Crayon Hearts

Who doesn't love taking something broken and making it pretty?  We love this project because it does just that!

Tools:
  • Crayons
  • X acto Knife
  • Baking Tray or Muffin Pan
  • Toothpick
Step 1.  Take off all the wrappers to your crayons.  We used an X acto knife, which makes it so much easier and faster.

Step 2.  Spread the crayon colors around in your tray or pan.  Fill the tray/pan as much as possible.  When the crayon starts to melt it will go down.

Step 3.  Put the tray/pan in the oven at 275 degrees F.  Bake for 7-8 minutes or until melted.

Step 4.  To make a great marble effect use a toothpick to swirl the colors.

It's perfect as a gift with a coloring book or sketch pad!

Glitter Vases

This year we made glitter vases for our mom's and aunts.  They are easy to make and fast.

You will need:

  1. glass vase
  2. modpodge
  3. sponge brush
  4. glitter
  5. tape

Tape your vase in any design you want.  We did stripes.  Brush on the modpodge where you want the glitter to show.  Sprinkle the glitter wherever you put the modpodge.

Let the modpodge set for a few minutes, then rip off the tape.  Go over the glitter one more time with modpodge to seal in the glitter.

Add a cute ribbon or twine with your card.

Made with love.
